We are proud to announce exceptional results in the National SATs at KS2 taken by our Year 6 Pupils in 2011.
100% of our Year 6 pupils gained Level 4 at KS2 in both English and Maths. (Moreover 77% gained Level 5 in English and 54% in Maths)!
We are so very proud of our results and send our congratulations to all involved.
We are proud to announce exceptional results in the Torbay secondary selection tests at 11 + this year.
83% of our year 6 pupils received a selected place.
There were 12 children in our year 6 and 10 of them have gained a secondary selected place. The national and local average for the year 6 cohort is 25%. This is an exceptional result, even for us - a stellar year!
Our heartiest congratulations go to all the children and also to all their teachers, for working so hard and pulling out all the stops when it mattered.

Primary School from South Devon wins NATIONAL FINALS
5 children from a Torbay Primary School travelled to London and won the National Finals of the St John Ambulanmce Competition.
We congragulate all five of the Abbey School children, Abdal, Harrison, Charlotte, Lucy and Davina, who represented the South West Region in the London Finals of the St John Ambulance Competition on 29th June 2011. The team of four came first, those same children entered the pairs competitin and came first and second, and our reseve, Davina, came third in the reserve competition. Well done to everyone, and special thanks to their Trainer, Miss Fleur Greinig who couldn't attend the London Finals, but who is so proud of her team!
For parents of Abbey School Nursery Pupils: As a current parent a place in our Reception Class for your child is guaranteed, providing you confirm that you require one by the end of this Summer Term 2011 (Tuesday 12th July 2011). After that you will be applying for a place with those from outside the school on a first come first served basis.
We will contact you at the start of the Summer term to remind you. We don't want to release a place to another if it is wanted by you, but we do need to know.

Abbey Adventures is a holiday club that runs during all school holidays and is open to all children from babies to 11 years of age. We open daily between 8.30 and 5.00 p.m. Please phone for our detailed programme and to secure a place for your child. Remember, we open during all school holidays, including half terms, so you can relax in the knowledge that your child will be cared for even though you may need to work!Tel: 01803 327868
To go along with our new Prospectus we have just produced a new DVD of Abbey School. Should you like to know more about our school, please contact us for a copy of our new prospectus and DVD. You will see that our prospectus is full of photographs of enthusiastic, happy children, working and playing in all departments of the school, from the smallest child in our nursery, to those about to leave for their secondary schools.
